Introduction
Hi! My name is Hannah Williams and I am a first year graduate student at the University of Mary Washington pursuing my Masters of Education. In my free time, I love playing softball and volleyball, reading, traveling, crafting, and all things Frozen. I have worked as a camp counselor and a camp Director at a summer camp for the last 5 summers and loved every minute of it. I think my training from camp will help me become a better teacher in the classroom.
As a student, I had teachers that changed my life. Some that I will never forget because they were amazing and kind, and others I won't forget because they were well... not so amazing. I want to make sure that my students have a teacher that genuinely cares about them and is there to give them the best education, and not just a paycheck.
And now I am getting the opportunity to do just that! I can't wait to continue learning and to finally have my own classroom!
Teaching Philosophy
My personal goal for my future classroom is to maintain a safe and challenging environment where students are having fun and enjoying learning. I want to watch each student grow to their full potential physically, emotionally, socially, and intellectually.
I know I don't have my own classroom yet, but I think it is important to think about and consider how I want to run my classroom when I finally get one. I know the classroom management will change depending on the students, but I dont think it is ever too early to start planning!
